Bloc Seal is a purpose-designed solution for creating service entry points within beam and block floor systems, providing a secure and sealed alternative to traditional methods.

Traditionally, service entry openings have been formed by cutting standard concrete blocks on site, which can weaken the structure and leave gaps that allow air leakage, moisture ingress and rodent access. Bloc Seal eliminates these issues by providing a consistent, ready-made solution that maintains the integrity of the floor while delivering a clean, sealed finish around pipes and ducts.

maximum flexibility

Manufactured to the size of a standard construction block, Bloc Seal is designed to integrate seamlessly into beam and block floor systems without requiring any modification on site. It features two built-in offset apertures, allowing services to be positioned accurately within the floor layout.

With four possible service entry positions created by rotating the block, Bloc Seal provides flexibility during installation and helps accommodate varying pipe and duct locations, reducing the need for adjustments or rework on site.

No more gaps

Bloc Seal provides a secure, close-fitting seal around pipes and ducts, helping to prevent unwanted gaps at service entry points within the floor. This creates a more controlled and consistent finish compared to traditional cut block methods.

By eliminating gaps around services, it helps reduce air leakage, moisture ingress and the risk of rodent entry, improving the quality, security and reliability of the finished installation.

Structurally designed

Engineered to maintain the structural integrity of beam and block floor systems, the Bloc Seal airtight service entry solution removes the need for on-site cutting or modification of standard concrete blocks. It provides a consistent and reliable method for forming service entry points without compromising the strength of the floor.

Developed in accordance with EN 1991-1-1:2002 (Eurocode 1 – Actions on structures) and tested to BS EN 15037-2:2009+A1:2011, it delivers dependable performance within precast concrete floor systems, supporting safe and compliant installation.

Fast installation

Like our other products (Dor Cav and Insu Clip), Bloc Seal is quick and easy to install, removing the need for cutting concrete blocks or carrying out additional preparation on site. This helps streamline the service entry process within beam and block floor systems.

By reducing installation time and simplifying the overall process, it helps minimise labour requirements and supports a more efficient, consistent build programme.

FAQ

How big is the block?

Bloc Seal is manufactured to the same dimensions as a standard concrete building block, measuring 440 x 215 x 100mm, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into beam and block floor systems without modification.

Are there different options available?

Bloc Seal is supplied as a single block type with two offset apertures, which can be used in four positions by rotating the block 180 degrees, providing flexibility to suit different service layouts on site.

What seals do the block come with?

Each block is supplied with one 110mm seal for standard soil pipes and one custom seal that can be cut to suit pipe or duct sizes ranging from 10mm to 110mm, or left uncut to act as a blanking plug where required.

Can I purchase additional custom seals?

Yes, additional custom seals are available separately, allowing you to configure the block with two adjustable seals if required for your specific installation.

How do I install the Bloc Seal?

Bloc Seal is installed in place of a standard block within the beam and block floor, providing a ready-made service entry point. For full installation details, please refer to the technical installation guide.

Do I need to cut the block on site?

No, Bloc Seal is designed to eliminate the need for cutting concrete blocks, providing a pre-formed solution that saves time and helps maintain the structural integrity of the floor.

Can unused apertures be sealed?

Yes, any unused aperture can be sealed using the custom seal as a blanking plug, helping to maintain a secure and sealed finish where services are not required.
