Introducing the Insu Clip, a purpose-designed solution for securing perimeter insulation upstands quickly and reliably without compromising the surrounding build.

Developed to address common on-site challenges, Insu Clip eliminates the need to fix through damp proof membranes, helping to protect their integrity while ensuring insulation remains firmly in place. This provides a cleaner, more consistent installation method that improves efficiency and reduces the risk of damage during construction.

Its simple, practical design allows for fast fitting and consistent results across a range of floor types, helping to streamline the placement of perimeter insulation upstands and reduce the need for on-site remedial work.

Robust support

Insu Clip provides secure and stable support for perimeter insulation upstands, holding them firmly in position throughout the build process. Its purpose-designed form ensures consistent fixing without relying on temporary or unreliable methods.

By removing the need for nails, screws or adhesive tapes, it eliminates common points of failure that can lead to insulation becoming dislodged, helping to maintain correct positioning and a clean, consistent finish.

no drilling

In suitable applications, clips can be securely fixed to dense masonry using adhesive, removing the need to drill into concrete blocks. This helps simplify the fixing process and reduces disruption on site.

By eliminating the need for plugs and screws, it avoids unnecessary damage to the substrate and helps maintain the integrity of the surrounding construction, while still providing a reliable and consistent fixing method.

NO MORE DAMAGE To MEMBRANES

The clips are designed with a high fixing position, allowing them to be secured without penetrating the damp proof membrane. This helps protect it during installation and avoids unnecessary damage at a critical stage of the build.

By keeping fixings above the membrane, it reduces the risk of punctures that could affect performance, helping to maintain a more reliable and compliant floor construction.

Fast installation

Just like our Dor Cav and Bloc Seal products, Insu Clip is designed for quick and straightforward fitting, allowing perimeter insulation upstands to be secured efficiently without complex preparation or additional components. This helps to keep work progressing smoothly on site.

Its simple fixing method reduces time spent on each section, making it easier to maintain momentum during floor construction and minimise delays caused by slower, more cumbersome installation methods.

FAQ

What size insulation does the clip retain?

The Insu Clip is designed to securely hold 25mm polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation at the perimeter of the floor, where external walls meet the screed, helping to reduce lateral cold bridging and support compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations.

Can Insu Clip be used with other insulation thicknesses?

Insu Clip is specifically designed for 25mm PIR insulation, which is typically required to achieve the necessary thermal performance at perimeter junctions, and may not provide the same level of performance or fit with alternative thicknesses.

Is 25mm insulation required at all external walls?

Yes, 25mm PIR insulation is generally required at all external wall perimeters to meet thermal performance targets set out in Part L and SAP calculations, helping to reduce heat loss at the floor edge.

I’ve seen thin rolls of foam used on the external walls, is this the correct product for thermal bridging?

No, the thin rolls of foam insulation that are sometimes provided with kits such as underfloor heating is to help with the expansion of screed against walls.
It should not be confused with correct 25mm PIR insulation that should be used on all external walls to meet document L and SAPS requirements.

Where should Insu Clips be installed?

Insu Clips are used at the perimeter of the floor, fixing insulation upstands in place where the screed meets external walls, ensuring the insulation remains correctly positioned during installation.

What quantities of Insu Clips are available?

Insu Clip is available in bags of 20, 50 and 100 units, allowing you to choose the most suitable quantity depending on the size and requirements of your project.

Can Insu Clips be used with underfloor heating systems?

Yes, Insu Clips can be used alongside underfloor heating systems, ensuring perimeter insulation is held securely in place while allowing for correct screed installation and expansion.

How do I install the Insu Clips?

InsuClip is quick and straightforward to fit, securing insulation upstands in placewithout the need for complex preparation. For full installation details, pleaserefer to the technical installation guide.
