DOR CAV

What cavity widths can the Dor Cav be used on?

The Dor Cav structural cavity closer is suitable for cavity widths ranging from 75mm to 150mm, making it ideal for a wide range of residential and commercial construction projects.

What length Dor Cav do I need?

The Dor Cav should match the width of your door opening or the next available size up. For example, for a 1000mm door opening, you would typically use a 1200mm Dor Cav, which can be easily cut down to size on site for a precise fit.

What lengths is the Dor Cav available in?

The Dor Cav is available in 900mm and 1200mm lengths. For wider door openings, multiple sections can be joined together. For example, a 2400mm opening can be accommodated using two 1200mm Dor Cav.

How do I install the Dor Cav?

Please refer to our Dor Cav Installation Guide for step-by-step installation instructions, technical guidance and best practice recommendations.

How do I install the Dor Cav Retro Fit?

Full installation instructions for the Dor Cav Retro Fit are available in our Dor Cav Installation Guide, which includes guidance for both new-build and retrofit applications.

Can I use the Dor Cav above the insulation and screed?

No. The Dor Cav is designed to be installed beneath the insulation and screed, where it provides structural support. It is not intended to be installed above the insulation at finished floor level.

Where can I buy the Dor Cav cavity closer?

You can purchase the Dor Cav directly through our Shop. If you have any questions about sizing, availability or trade pricing, please email our sales team at sales@vulcon.co.uk or call 01892 251992.

BLOC SEAL

How big is the Bloc Seal?

The Bloc Seal is manufactured to the same dimensions as a standard concrete building block, measuring 440 × 215 × 100mm. This allows it to be easily incorporated into standard masonry construction without requiring any modifications.

What options are available?

The Bloc Seal is supplied as a single block featuring two offset service apertures. This provides four possible pipe positions, as the block can be rotated through 180° and either seal can be fitted into either aperture, giving you greater flexibility during installation.

What seals are supplied with the Bloc Seal?

All blocks come as standard with 1 x 110mm seal for a normal soil pipe and a 1 x custom seal that can be used for any size pipe/duct ranging from 10mm to 110mm. Alternatively, the 1 x custom seal can be left uncut as a blanking plug if not required.

Can I buy additional custom seals?

Yes. Additional Bloc Seal custom seals are available to purchase separately. This allows you to replace the standard 110mm soil pipe seal with a second custom seal, giving you two fully customisable seals within a single Bloc Seal.

How do I install the Bloc Seal?

Please refer to our Bloc Seal Installation Guide for step-by-step installation instructions, technical guidance and best practice recommendations.

Where can I buy the Bloc Seal from?

INSU CLIP

What thickness of insulation does the Insu Clip support?

The Insu Clip is designed to securely retain 25mm PIR insulation where external walls meet the screed, helping to prevent lateral cold bridging. A 25mm PIR insulation board is the thickness typically required to achieve the thermal performance specified in Approved Document L of the Building Regulations. For full product specifications, please see the Insu Clip product page.

I’ve seen thin rolls of foam used on the external walls, is this the correct product for thermal bridging?

No. The thin foam edging strip often supplied with underfloor heating systems is designed to allow for the natural expansion of the screed against surrounding walls. It is not intended to provide thermal insulation or prevent cold bridging.
To comply with the thermal performance requirements of Approved Document L and SAP calculations, 25mm PIR insulation should be installed around all external walls, securely retained using the Insu Clip.

What pack sizes are available?

The Insu Clip is available in packs of 20, 50 and 100, making it suitable for projects of all sizes, from small residential developments to larger commercial installations.

How do I install the Insu Clips?

Please refer to our Insu Clip Installation Guide for step-by-step installation instructions, technical guidance and best practice recommendations.

Where can I buy the Insu Clips from?

You can order the Insu Clip directly through our Shop. If you have any questions about product availability or your particular application, please send an email to sales@vulcon.co.uk or call 01892 251992.
